I love the app excpt for the fact that when ever I start a new stop motion, once i’m about 15 or so minutes in, the app crashes. I can get back what I just spent time in making, this problem NEEDS to be fixed because it makes it impossible to complete, or even start on a film.

Great value for the money, great UI, great features. Finally iStopMotion becomes the application the App Store really needed. Do not even hesitate if youre into that kind of creativity!

Bought it, and was disappointed at first because under 10.8 it kept crashing. BUUUUUT : great support, found the problem (old version of Camtwist), uninstalled it, and now IStopmotion seems to work smoothly. So, from zero to five stars for the great support and the app itself ! M

This program is absolutely awesome! I have not experienced any bugs at all and doing stop motion now works better… bla bla bla If you like doing animation/stop motion you are a fool, if you dont buy it for 17,99€! :)

iStopMotion 3 is a well designed app, in my opinion. I am quite happy with the release of version 3.6, which fixed the importing glitch. Yet the one thing that I think should be improved is that there should be a frame rate menu, which allows you to adjust different things with the frames, including FPS. If there already is one, I think there should be an easy way to access it. Other than that, there are no other problems that I can find! Keep up the great work Boinx Software Ltd.!

I like this Stop motion App beccause unlike any other ones, it supports non-live veiw cameras. I think that it should have More Foregrounds though, because I looked on the internet and I could not find any. Other than that I think Its Great!

This a great app for the money considering what else is available at this pricepoint and how expensive more featured software is. I use this app with an ipevo webcam for traditional (paper) animation pencil tests. Out of the all the apps I used for this, iStopMo takes the clearest hi-res pictures, and overall is pretty easy to work with. However, I think this app could be truly great with two changes: 1. Ability to easily create holds would be amazing. Instead of shooting the same frame multiple times, just drag a frame to hold it over multiple frames. This is crucial when establishing your timing early on in your animation. 2. Please change the timeline UI. It’s really hard to work with when frames grow and shrink on rollover and when you turn it off you can’t see the thumbnails. Just a regular filmstrip with static thumbnails would be so much easier.

If you have a Canon 6D and you get iStopMotion 3 running with taking your card out put all the settings like recommended and having no preview be aware. Even working with a Mac Pro 12 core failed with iStopMotion. It slowed down and at the end it froze. All work for nothing. I don’t recommend iStopMotion if you work with DSLRs. You can’t work with raw and you can’t save your fotos separately. I hope Boinx will come up with a better update soon.

Issues connecting iPhone to app on Macbook, maybe a bluetooth option would be a good solution? Good app when it works.

Have a large collection of DSLR and Point and Shoots, tried each one but no luck. Iphone 6S with the app also could not be found. The support they offer on their website is terrible. Want my money back.

I was excited to buy this and try it out, but it is just too buggy to use. The wifi connection to my iPhone cuts off very frequently (every minute!). The app also crashes and quits all of a sudden. Please get this fixed! I have things I want to make with it!

After only a few hours to toy and tinker around with this app, I am, extremely excited to dive deeper into it. As usual, Boinx software has brought an excellent update to a wonderful app experience. Great UI, easy to get started and navigate. Using your iphone or ipad as a remote camera is smooth, simple, and just so COOL!!! If you have any interest or use for stop motion animation this is the app to get.

Downloaded and installed twice. Crashes on open every time. Reported bug. No response from author yet. Will Re-evaluate review if they can get this bug fixed.

Im not an artist or a film maker or really even that creative, but when I showed my daughter what it could do she got so excited that I bought it. We got some playdough out and started playing around with it...nothing fancy...just a lot of fun. It was truly an amazing moment. I love being able to use my iPhone (dont really have any camera equipment). I found the interface very intuitive and the "onion skinning" feature is really cool! The iPhone app is also very cool, but you will probably want to get some sort of tripod or a place to stabilize it. This app is just a tick more the price of two movie tickets ($29) and yet it far exceeds the fun we would have had at a theater. Its just plain fun!

Crashes on startup every time on my Mac Book Pro. Works like a champ on the iMac. When it runs it is awesome. Very frustrating that it wont work on the laptop. I would rate as 5 star if they fixed the crash issue.

Mac Pro 16Gb ram SSD, etc it give me the beacball of doom after the short video when i press the escape key to cancel the new project window.

Its awesome when its not crashing. On one of my Macs it works almost every time i have opened it. but the other one ( unfortunatly the one i actually want to use it on) it wont even open.

At first iStopMotion 3 would not launch on my MBP with Mountin Lion, but a quick email exchange with tech-support (thanks, Emmi) pinpointed the problem to some bad QuickTime components from Perian and Cam Twist which were incomptible with Mountain Lion. Up and running now beautifully. The iPhone WiFi camera feature is brilliant!

I, too, had a problem with iStopMotion 3 crashing when I tried to open it. The remedy, suggested by the Boinx support team was to remove Camtwist from my system. (Kudos to the support team!) Doing that fixed the problem, and Im loving iStopMotion 3! Especially powerful with the iPad/iPhone remote camera features. I just leared the intoductory price break has been extended until Sunday. Grab it now. Dont miss out! (But if you do, this app is definitely worth $49.99).
